Olaikuda is a beautiful traditional fishing hamlet, located on the Bay of Bengal, sandwiched between Palkway and Gulf of Mannar. The village is barely 1 km from Ramanathaswamy Temple at Rameshwaram. The sea is engulfed with coral reefs and surrounded by mangroves. The recent artificial fire created in the reserve forest, by Government officials and the inaction of the local police, has prompted the villagers to air out their grievance through this initiative.
